Macramé is a very old weaving technique that consists of tying threads together. This creative hobby has not been abandoned for a long time, but it has not said its last word! It is even making a comeback. It allows you to make pretty decorative objects, for inside and outside, but also trendy accessories like bags, macramé belts... It creates a bohemian, ethnic or hippie chic style that is very appreciated.
How to start macramé? Before starting, you need to know which rope to use for macramé: choose the right diameter, the right colour and the right material to make your macramé creation.For this weaving technique, no great knowledge is needed. You need to master the different basic macramé knots. Start with the easy macramé knots like the overhand knot or the lark's knot, then try the more complicated knots. Try your hand at the art of knotting!

What material to make macramé? Macramé is a manual activity that requires very little equipment. At the very least, you will need a rope or cord and a pair of scissors. That's it!
For more comfort, we recommend using a tape measure to measure the length of the threads, pins to secure the threads and a cork or cardboard tray or plate.
You can then add a support (driftwood, wooden circle, chopsticks...), raw wood beads or large coloured beads, resin elements, feathers, dried flowers...
