How do you knit? To start you need the basic equipment: knitting needles and wool! There are several balls of wool: there are special Layette wools, cotton yarns, acrylic wools, Alpaca wools, Merino wools, Mohair wools... There are also several types of needles: one-pointed needles, two-pointed needles and circular needles. Knitting needles can be made of metal, plastic, wood or bamboo. You can make a lot of knitting projects, winter clothing for example: scarves, hats and sweaters.

The average size of a knitting needle is 40 cm, but they can measure between 20 and 60 cm. The smaller the needle, the easier it is to use. It also depends on the work you want to do.
It is preferable to choose your needle according to the type of work you wish to carry out.
For example, to make a blanket, opt for very long needles because they can hold more stitches. On the other hand, for small works such as placemats, choose small needles.
Be careful, some wools are more or less resistant to tension. Take into account the needle diameter mentioned on the balls of wool.
