What is punch needle? It is an embroidery technique that allows to give relief to creations. A special needle known as a "magic needle" is used. The principle is to stitch on the reverse side of a canvas or fabric to create small looped stitches that form in front. The technique of the punch needle is very much used in decoration. Cushions and wall decorations can be made. We can also customize clothes and create accessories: bags, pouches, wallets... This is really THE new trend! This technique is simpler and faster than traditional embroidery. There are only 4 stitches to master.

What equipment should I use to make punch needle?
Depending on the size of your project, you should choose a suitable canvas or fabric. We often use Frou-Frou cotton fabric and burlap. We advise you to choose a wooden drum to hold the fabric while you embroider.
For the needles, it is necessary to know that there are several sizes and several marks: DMC and Oxford
Then you have to choose wool, you can choose cotton embroidery threads with a diameter of 0.80 mm or Natura XL DMC Cotton.
You can mix colours and sizes of wool to give even more pattern and relief!
